Initiatives and Projects

Born Learning:
Born Learning is a national campaign that increases parents' knowledge on how to get their kids off to a good start. The Campaign is presented by United Way of America, the Ad Council, and Civitas. Parent Trust operates the Born Learning phone line for Snohomish, King and Pierce counties. You can call this number to receive free materials, and also be transferred to the Parent Trust Family Help Line for additional support. The number to call is: 1-888-986-KIDS.
Circle of Parents:
Parent Trust for Washington Children is the Washington State contact for the Circle of Parents® national network. For more information about the national network of support group programs, visit the Circle of Parents website.

Cool Responses to Hot Buttons Campaign:
In partnership with Washington Parent Teachers Association and the King County Library System, Parent Trust for Washington Children created the Cool Responses to Hot Buttons campaign, which provides handouts and resources for parents in King County. Parents As Teachers National Center
Parent Trust for Washington Children is the state office for Parents as Teachers. Parents as Teachers is an international early learning organization that provides a research-verified curriculum and resources to 24 programs in Washington State, serving families from pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Each year, over 1,000 families are served in Washington State through home visits, health/developmental screenings, group meetings, and resources and referrals.

Shaken Baby Prevention Campaign:
The Family Help Line works with the Washington Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (WCPCAN) and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center to educate the public and distribute materials on Shaken Baby Syndrome. This campaign encourages caregivers to call the Parent Trust Family Help Line immediately if they are feeling that they might harm their babies. Relatives as Parents Program:
The Family Help Line serves as the support line for Relatives as Parents Program and referral source for their support groups around Washington State. This program is coordinated by the Washington State University Parenting Team in collaboration with Department of Social and Health Services - Aging & Disability Services Administration. Keeping Families Safe Campaign:
In partnership with the Domestic Violence Hotline and DHL, the Family Help Line serves as the support line for the "Keeping Families Safe" Campaign. Parent Trust for Washington Children provides outreach to victims of domestic violence who need assistance dealing with their children.
