|About the Founder:
Bernie Dorsey is the founder of the Conscious Fathering Program, the largest class for the new and expectant father in Washington State and second largest in the Nation. Bernie developed the program out of a need for classes devoted to dads and the knowledge that it is impossible to be a competent partner in caring for a new baby if you know little or nothing about infants. Among his many accolades, Bernie was the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Advocacy of Child Abuse Prevention in 2002 and in 2004 received official commendation from the National Center for Fathering for his work to strengthen fathers and families. Bernie has served as PTSA president, is the father of one son and the uncle of many children in his immediate family and to those in his community.
|Eric Bruckbauer is a Conscious Fathering Instructor, and a former Conscious Fathering Program Administrator and Grant Writer for Parent Trust for Washington Children. Eric was trained to teach the Conscious Fathering curriculum by Bernie Dorsey, Conscious Fathering’s Founder, and he currently teaches classes in various locations throughout the greater Seattle area. Eric has a degree in Communications from Washington State University. Previous to Conscious Fathering, he taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Japan to students of all age levels and levels of speaking ability. He is excited about inspiring new fathers to form a direct relationship and bond with their new child and believes the greatest benefit to children is achieved when both parents are prepared with the necessary skills and knowledge and are committed to creating a healthy, nurturing environment in which their child can thrive and grow.|
|Matt Edwards is a graduate of the Conscious Fathering program and is currently teaching at various hospitals throughout the Seattle area and conducts national training sessions for new instructors of the Conscious Fathering program. Along with a Master’s in Communication from Washington State University, Matt has an extensive background in business, marketing and public relations and currently teaches at Renton Technical College. Having an opportunity to combine his passion for teaching and joy of being a father with expectant dads is truly a blessing and privilege for Matt. Matt is the proud father of his daughter, Ella.|
