Class SMART Teen

Stress Management And Relaxation Training for Teens.

Everyone experiences stress. Too much stress, too often, can make you unhappy and sick. But teens can take control of stress by learning relaxation techniques and stress management strategies here at S.M.A.R.T. Teen. Begin your teens’ stress-free journey by enrolling in this fun workshop.

There are things teens can do that are FREE and EASY. Teens can feel better and learn to take control of their stress. The SMART workshop teaches specific tools that can be used in daily life.

Our S.M.A.R.T. Teen workshop is scheduled directly with your group, for your group. The workshop can take place at your location; Parent Trust can also accommodate groups up to 30 participants.

Class Format

The SMART class is 1.5-2 hours. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate shorter class times. However, we can discuss splitting the class into two sessions if your school schedule doesn’t allow for block classes.

During class time, teens will be invited to participate in specific relaxation techniques. These may include physical movement, brief meditation, art, sitting, and standing. The class is highly interactive.

Ages Served

The S.M.A.R.T. Teen workshop is designed for teens ages 13-19 years old. Because of grant specifications and curriculum, we are currently unable to serve children younger than 13 years old.

Class Topics

  • What is stress?
  • How do I know I’m stressed?
  • What can I do to reduce stress?
  • Specific mind/body techniques for relaxation.

Thanks to a grant from United Way of King County, all teen workshops in King County are FREE, as long as the following criteria are met:

  • Teens live in King County
  • Teens are 13-19 years old
  • Teens are in attendance for the full 1.5-2 hour class.
  • Adult teacher or program supervisor is present during class.
For locations outside of King County, fees are negotiated based on number of participants and travel costs (if any) for instructor. Materials are included in workshop fee.

For groups that cannot meet for the required 1.5-2 hours, we are happy to discuss a for-fee model for a mini-workhsop.

Please contact us for more information.
