Healthy and effective stress management techniques can be learned, and are some of the most effective and important tools for decreasing stress and reducing the negative effects of chronic stress.

The Workshop
Everyone-children and adults-experiences stress. Too much stress too often can lead to behavior and/or health problems. Classes for parents, teens and professionals are available.

Class Content
The workshop is highly interactive. Presentation includes both lecture, instruction on techniques, and practicing techniques.

  • What is stress? What is relaxation?
  • Is stress harmful?
  • What causes stress? (Includes discussion of A.C.Es -adverse childhood experiences)
  • Warning signs of stress.
  • Techniques to increase your resilience to future stress and decrease your current stress.
Class Length
Workshops must take place in one session. At this time we are unable to split the workshop into more than one session.

  • The Teen Foundation Workshop is 90 minutes.  “Block” days in school work best for bringing this workshop into your classroom.
  • The Adult Foundation Workshop is 120 minutes
  • The Adult Mini-Workshop is 90 minutes.
Class Location Options

Your location: We come to you! SMART has been successfully embedded into school classrooms, meeting and conference rooms, retreat locations, etc. We ask the following:

  • Room for all participants to sit comfortably.
  • Place to write: ideally, participants will have a table or desk although this is optional.
  • Room is free from outside interruption
  • White board, black board and/or flip chart is available.
  • Microphone for large audiences (50 or more) is ideal.

Our location: Parent Trust is located in Seattle. We have two rooms available for rent; please contact us for information.

Group Size

Teen Audiences:
Minimum 10 maximum 35 is recommended
Adult staff/teacher must be present at all times during workshop

Adult Audiences: minimum 10 maximum 100 is recommended.

Additional fees apply to audiences larger than listed here.

Free
To qualify for our free workshops, your group or class must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Located in King County, Washington
  • Teens are 15-19 years old
  • Your program or class is not drop in.
  • Your program is located inside King County, WA
  • You are able to schedule a 90 minute block of time for the workshop
  • Minimum 10 maximum 35 participants.
  • You will provide adult supervision from your program during the workshop
  • Students must complete an outcomes survey, which is kept anonymous
For Fee
Base fee: $250.00
Mileage costs: $0.55 per mile for our presenter’s travel. Estimate available on request.
Addtional travel costs as needed; may include parking fees, lodging, etc. outside King Co. To be determined on case-by-case basis.

Full Workshop
Length: 120 minutes
Base fee: $300.00
Mileage costs: $0.55 per mile for our presenter’s travel. Estimate available on request.
Additional travel costs as needed; may include parking fees, lodging, etc. outside King Co. To be determined on case-by-case basis.
Mini Workshop
Length: 90 minutes
Base fee: $200.00
Mileage costs: $0.55 per mile for presenter’s travel. Estimate available on request.
Additional travel costs as needed; may include parking fees, lodging, etc. outside King Co. To be determined on case-by-case basis.
