Create An Event For Parent Trust for Washington Children

These stories are just a small sample of the wonderful ways community members have donated to our organization.

Kids Who Do Chores

When the winter storms of 2007 left members of one of Parent Trust for Washington Children's Parent Groups short on fresh food for their families, a group of young friends set to work. They had the experience: 3 years ago they had formed a group that did neighborhood chores to raise money for different causes. This time, three girls decided to collect food in their neighborhood.

They pulled a children's wagon door-to-door asking for help for families in need. The neighbors were generous so the kids were able to deliver four bags of groceries to the PTWC families.

Lemonade Stand

8 year-old Isaac's story: "We started August 14th, 2007. Everybody was having a great time. We had eleven signs. Our [older friend] helped, but just a little bit. She gave us the A boards; we used them on the sidewalks on both ways pointing the direction. When cars came by we yelled 'Lemonade!' very very loud in the blowhorn.

Our grandma helped us a lot. She gave us $15.00 for our lemonade stand. We have $56.00 that we made for Parent Trust!"
