"[The instructor is] EXTREMELY knowledgeable on current research and practices, very balanced, great job with integrating creative educational tools into our training."

During the workshop, we assume that all students have a solid level of knowledge about pregnancy, the labor and birth process, medical interventions for complications, newborn care, and postpartum. This class focuses on how to communicate that knowledge to expectant parents.

After you register for the class, we will send you a recommended reading list of materials you may choose to read to be certain you are prepared with the level of knowledge you would need.

During the workshop, you will be expected to present one ten-minute lecture with AV's on a challenging topic, do two ten-minute sessions on teaching and practicing a physical skill (such as a breathing technique, positions for labor, or massage). You will also be required to turn in a lesson plan for a two hour class session.
