Relaxation Skills
Just "managing" your stress is not enough. We all need to give ourselves a chance to "re-set" after we've navigated through a lot of stressors. We need to give ourselves time and space to relax and self-soothe.
Cognitive Skills
Cognitive skills for stress management have to do with paying attention to our thoughts, and understanding that thoughts lead to feelings, and thoughts +feelings are what lead to behaviors.
Self Regulation Skills
Self regulation is the ability to monitor one’s own emotions, thoughts and behaviors. This includes learning how to control our actions when we experience uncomfortable feelings.
