This is where I got the “tomato seed/plant” metaphor–one of the most helpful metaphors about worry and stress I’ve ever seen. Also contains activities and techniques for children.

Building Emotional Intelligence, by Linda Lantieri
Geared for children ages 5 and up, lots of practical strategies. Step-by-step instructions for helping kids manage their emotions and calm down when stressed.
