SMART Teen School Year 2020-2021

We know that the COVID-19 Pandemic is creating tremendous ongoing stress for families and communities.  It has never been more important for students to receive the tools and support they need to manage their daily stress.

We must explore every option to ensure that students have the skills and support they need to manage this huge disruption to their lives.

SMART Teen still offers simple, inexpensive techniques and ways of thinking that are immediately available for students to use on a daily basis.

We are offering 3 content options this year–a year like no other.
Our recommendation is Option #1, but we are happy to work with you if you feel Option #2 or Option #3 would be better for your students.

Option 1: Video Series + 50 minute SMART Teen Zoom Class

Our 50 minute SMART Zoom Class covers cognitive distortions, worry and stress.  This is new content, developed with covid-19 stressors in mind.

Our video series covers the foundational knowledge from our 90 minute class, minus the discussion about traumatic stress and ACEs.  It is a prerequisite for the 50 minute Zoom Class.  You may assign the series to your students to complete on their own, or watch them together as a class.

Video Lessons 1-5 contain activity suggestions for after viewing.  You may use these activities as assignments to have students show mastery of the concepts.

Option 2: Zoom 90 minute SMART Class with the following substitution from our standard curriculum:

  • Teachers must be present.
  • Outcomes evaluation surveys must be completed after class.

Option 3:  Zoom 90 minute SMART Teen Class

Same content, same activities, same outcomes measured.

Just like our in-person class:
