Family Advocate

Our Family Advocate provides parent support and education services for the families living at St. Stephen Housing Association’s transitional housing in Kent and Auburn. The Family Advocate works on a team with St. Stephen Housing Association Caseworkers. This position is 8 hours a week, and is highly flexible. Our Advocate works closely with our Family Help Line Team, and is supervised by our State Parent Program Manager.

Family Help Line Coordinator

The Family Help Line Program Coordinator is responsible for answering Family Help Line calls and contacts, caller follow-up, data entry, agency and resource research, and ongoing outreach. The Family Help Line Program Coordinator functions as a member of the overall Parent Trust team and is supervised by the Family Help Line Manager.

Childbirth Educator

The Great Starts classes are offered online and throughout the Puget Sound region, currently as far north as Mountlake Terrace and as far south as Renton, with eight individual teaching locations. Our emphasis is on providing unbiased, non-judgmental, research-based information, using interactive and engaging teaching techniques. The outcomes we want for our family participants include: increased confidence, knowledge of labor coping techniques, maternity care options and how to make informed decisions, understanding of the needs and capabilities of a newborn, and a stronger connection to other parents and resources in the community. Babysafe/Infant CPR Instructor

Babysafe is a 4-hour infant safety course focused on injury prevention, and also includes CPR/choking rescue. The class is offered by our Great Starts program online and at four different sites including Seattle Children’s Admin. Building, UWMC Roosevelt Clinic, Northwest Hospital, and in Mountlake Terrace. An instructor must be available for any of these locations. Classes are typically Saturday mornings 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and occasionally over 2-weeks at 2 hours each, 7-9 p.m. See full job announcement >>


Breastfeeding and Newborn Care Educator

Breastfeeding and Newborn Care classes are offered by our Great Starts program online and at eight different sites including for UWMC, Group Health, Northwest Hospital in Seattle, Valley Medical Center in Renton, and independent locations in Seattle and Mountlake Terrace.
