Youth Wrap Around Program Skagit County
A child/youth’s history and needs, as well the family’s interest in participating, are taken into consideration when deciding whether one of our wraparound programs offers the appropriate level of care. The wraparound process is intended to achieve positive outcomes by providing a structured, creative and individualized team planning process with youth, family and natural supports as key members of the team. The program is voluntary and each enrolled family is assigned a Facilitator who supports the team process. An assigned Family Support Partner represents the parent perspective and serves as parent support and advocate. Wraparound services adhere to certain defining principles, such as youth-guided, family-centered, strengths-based and culturally relevant.
Access to Intensive Wraparound requires an assigned Division of Child and Family Services (DSHS) caseworker and prior DCFS/DSHS authorization. A referral from a mental health professional or authorized school personnel is required. VOA does the intake to begin the process of assigning a Wraparound team after a referral is submitted.
