Why is nutrition a stress management issue?
Stress can lead to poor eating habits (too much caffeine, skipping breakfast, heavy on snacks, etc.) which in turn can cause health problems that create even MORE stress.
Eating a healthy diet can help your body and mind better deal with the effects of stress. Stress can deplete the body of important nutrients. A healthy diet can keep you more alert and energetic by making sure you get those nutrients replaced in your system.
When we have an unhealthy diet to start with, stress can take even a bigger toll on us. If we are sick from our diet, we don’t have all our best resources ready to manage stressors that come along. Eating healthy is a great stress management tool.
