Children learn a lot about healthy relationships through their playtime with you. Building strong bonds does not require a long playtime period. It does not have to be perfect. It is about being consistent with your time and giving your child your full attention for a few minutes each day.
Here are a few ways that you can build a few minutes of playtime into your busy day:
- Filling The Tank: Take 5 minutes to fill up your child’s cup.

- Child-Focused Playtime: Child-focused playtime fosters trust and connection.

- Routine Cards: Routine cards are a fun and engaging way to help your child get things done. https://www.parenttrust.org/2026/09/22/make-daily-routines-more-fun-for-your-kids/
- Child Role-Playing: Use child role-playing as a way to play with your child and teach them social skills. https://www.parenttrust.org/2026/08/24/children-learn-through-play/
